Shells small, cypraeiform, strongly sculptured transversally, with notched terminals.
 

The main differences between Pusula, Pseudopusula or Quasipusula remain anatomical, related to the morphology of the radula. Presence of a medio-dorsal furrow on the shell.
 

Shell usually rounder than in Niveria, with both terminals less protruding; no dorsal furrow; ribs obsolete to strong.
