British Isles to Morocco, Azores to western Mediterranean. Predator on sessile preys, mostly Ascidians like Diplosoma listerianum (Milne-Edwards, 1841), in the infralittoral down to circa 100m deep. Three dark spots on the dorsum, the central one often divided in two parts. Original taxon: Cypraea monacha. –3m deep, Isola Rossa, NW. Corsica. 10-13mm. |
