Adeuomphalus Seguenza, 1876:Shell minute, planispiral, strongly sculptured of radial, slightly sinuous, ribs or plicae. Apex and base deeply concave. Protoconch paucispiral. « Three species collected by submersibles in the vicinity of hydrothermal vents co-occurred with carnivorous sponges of the family Cladorhizidae; a parasitic mode of life is suggested based on the lack of the radula and the peculiar, tube-like shape of the snout. » (Kano, Chikyu & Warén, 2009). |

Akritogyra Warén, 1992:« Small archaeogastropods with a smooth, fragile skeneimorph shell. Protoconch of 0.5-0.6 whorls, finely granulate, at least on initial part. First 0.1-0.5 teleoconch whorl often sculptured with irregular net-sculpture or by short lines representing obsolete net-sculpture, or smooth. Beside this, only incremental lines and a slightly uneven, irregularly pitted surface in umbilicus (just barely visible with a stereomicroscope). 2-2.5 convex teleoconch whorls. » – A. Warén: “New and little known ‘Skeneimorph’ gastropods from the Mediterranean Sea and the adjacent Atlantic Ocean”, Bollettino Malacologico vol.27, Milano 1992, p.161. |

Moelleriopsis Bush, 1897:« Shell small, relatively thin, white under a golden brown or olive brown epidermis. Whorls few, convex, forming an elevated spire and large body-whorl. Suture distinct. Umbilicus of moderate size, round, deep, showing some of the whorls. Aperture circular, slightly oblique; peritreme continuous with a thin, sharp edge, appearing thickened within, attached to the body-whorl only for a short distance. » – K. Bush: “Revision of the marine gastropods referred to Cyclostrema, Adeorbis, Vitrinella and related genera with descriptions of some new genera and species belonging to the Atlantic fauna of America”, Transactions of the Connecticut Academy of Arts and Sciences vol.X part.1, New Haven 1899, p.137. |

Palazzia Warén, 1991:« The shells of Palazzia are smaller and more sturdily built than those of Adeuomphalus and Eudaronia, superficially approaching Ammonicera Vayssière, 1893 of the heterobranch family Omalogyridae (Warén, 1991). Palazzia species have axial ribs that frequently branch dichotomously and then disappear abruptly towards the periphery of the shell, in contrast to the continuous and unbranched ones in Adeuomphalus species. The ribs of Palazzia are also broad and rounded instead of narrow and sharp as in Adeuomphalus. The apical and basal spiral keels are absent in adult Palazzia, present only in the first teleoconch whorl, and the aperture is perfectly round with a continuous peristome. » – Kano, Chikyu & Warén: “Morphological, ecological and molecular characterization of the enigmatic planispiral snail genus Adeuomphalus (Vetigastropoda: Seguenzioidea)”, Journal of Molluscan Studies vol. 75(4), Oxford 2009, p.401. |

Vetulonia Dall, 1913:« Shell turbiniform, small, thin, with radiating ribs crossing spiral threads; umbilicated; the peristome interrupted by the body whorl; the outer lip in the completely adult reflected and somewhat thickened, the aperture unarmed. » – W. H. Dall: “A new genus of Trochidae”, The Nautilus vol.XXVII, Melbourne (Fla) 1913, p.86. |
