Biafra Bight to N. Norway & offshore islands, Madeira to Mediterranean & Black Sea. Ectoparasit in the sandy infralittoral. Original taxon: Turbonilla pointeli. Synonyms: pura, tenuis… The shell is supposed to be a little less slender than that of nitidissima, and to be devoid of spiral microsculpture. But intergrades do exist (Alen Petani). It is « so transparent, that in some individuals the columella appears entirely through the test. » – de Folin & Périer: Les fonds de la mer vol. Adult found at about 3,7m inside the sediment, bottom at 17m, Prokljan marine lake, Šibenik-Knin Comitat, W. Croatia. 1,85mm. |
