Known distribution: NE. Hérault and S. Gard to possibly western part of the Bouches-du-Rhône, in underground rivers, and possibly in hyporheic habitats (Bœters, 1971). Dead specimen collected at 74m deep (altitude ≈ 125m), in sediments among the pebbles, at the base of the submerged pit. Regard des Camps, Rouet, Hérault. Some live specimens have been collected at this depth (2005). 2,6mm. |
Original taxon: Paladilhia bourguignati. Named after the malacologist Jules-René Bourguignat, an author’s friend, the same who described the genus Bythiospeum. Narrow umbilicus, deep suture. Same spot: 2,5mm. |
