Veneridae: 38mm Tapes rhomboides (Pennant, 1777). Shells with purple shades are named "sarniensis" Turton. 17-37mm, in coarse sand, ripple-marks area, between the jetty and the pool, offshore. |
Vernacular names: Palourde rose, Banded Carpet shell. 24 specimens, some dead, some live collected, all on the surface of sand. One of the most abundant species in Channel Sea, intertidal to 150-200m deep. |
