Haliotis corrugata Wood, 1828
Distribution: central California to SW. Baja California.
Size up to 247mm. Subtidal to 25m deep, on rocks in Kelp forests.
Geiger & Poppe report a catch at 55m deep.

Green: California, 140mm; golden: Baja California, 150mm.
The Pink Abalone has a strongly corded and knobby dorsal surface, crossed by numerous growth lines.
Holes elevated, very few open. Those that are closed are seriously plugged.
One distinctive feature is the muscle scar, which is truncated on posterior side.
Anterior margin serrated, often flowing into columella.

Apex often eroded, knobby cords.
The sculpture strengthens with size, the apical area being the less contorted.
