Svalbard, Norway (not uncommon), east to Kattegat, west to Ireland, south to Mediterranean (rare), including North Sea, Adriatic and Aegean. Filter feeder, burrowed in fine mixed sand, in the infralittoral down to the low circalitoral. Original taxon: Solen pellucidus. Synonyms: adriaticus, pygmaeus

Dorsal margin straight, ventral margin convex; anterior margin rounded, posterior margin slightly truncate.
