« Testa transversa elongata, recta aut subarcuata, tumida, nitens, solidiuscula, valde inaequilateralis, extremitate antica brevissima, angustiore, rotundata, postica oblique producta, ad terminum subcompressa, margine dorsali recto aut vix curvato, compresso, cum extremitate postica angulo obtuso formante, ventrali recto vel leviter arcuato, umbonibus tumidis, oblique incurvatis; longitudinaliter subrugosa, postice concentrice et confertim elevato-striata; castanea, versus umbones pallidior, intus caerulescenti-albida. » « We dedicate [this species] to our industrious correspondent and friend Dr. Francisco Martorell, from Barcelona, whose malacological researches were very useful for the present work. » – J.
