Indo-W. Pacific, Red Sea, eastern Mediterranean. Predator in the infralittoral. Original taxon: Columbella pumila. Synonyms: atomella, bifasciata, dora, minuscula… The colour is variable (see the Colombella (sic) atomella in the Duclos collection at the MNHN Paris) but the shape remains constant, as well as the strength of the sculpture. « Testa minima, elongata, utrinque attenuata, unicolore fusca; anfractibus senis per longitudinem costatis, ultimo spira paullo longiore, semicostato, ad basin lirato; columella sinuata, labro paullulum incrassato, intus plicato vel subdenticulato; apertura angusta » – W.
