Galicia to W. Mediterranean.
Predator on Callogorgia sp., Eunicella verrucosa and Paramuricea at circa 30-200m deep.
 
Shell often white, rarely coloured with pale ochre, slender, glossy, smooth apart some spiral striae on the extremities and some growth marks; aperture slightly narrower than in the other mediterranean species.

The spiral striations, always weak, appear at the extremities, and quickly vanish before reaching the middle of the shell.
