Mediterranean. Suspension feeder in the infralittoral and the circalittoral. Original taxon: Vermicularia granulata, described after a Serpula granulata by Otto Fabricius in his Fauna Groenlandica Copenhagen 1780, which poses a problem since this animal is considered to live only in Mediterranean. Sculpture grainy with 3-4 decurring dorsal lines, of which the central one is slightly higher than the others, with the furrows crossed by growth marks; anterior end of the tube almost smooth.
