IX, Genova 1876-1877, p.420. « Close to the previous one [ triplicata Brocchi 1814, fossil], from which it can be called a bicarenated variant. However, it differs by its advantageous stature and for the two keels that constantly surround its whorls. I owe the figured copy to Mr. Donati. Other specimens show a more acute apex. » |
If turbona is a synonym of vermicularis (Brocchi 1814, fossil), the range extends south to Angola. Juvenile from 50m deep, Scilla, Calabria, SW. Italy. 10-12,5mm. |
