Algarve to W. Morocco, into Alborán Sea. Scavenger in intertidal and infralittoral sandy bottoms. Original taxon: Nassa vaucheri. Shell turriculate, with 1½ protoconch whorls, and 7 teleoconch whorls, « convex, separated from each other by a marked suture (the last one being slightly exceeding half of the total length), bearing 6 to 11 thin growth lines visible only under magnification, adorned with numerous longitudinal costae and filiform spiral cords (12 on the last whorl, 6 in the penultimate). » – P. « Aperture ovate, angled posteriorly, round at the base; columella arcuate, hardly folded; tail-end rather developed, adorned with narrow decurrent plicae, not very notched rearward. Canal open, inclined, a little wide; columellar callus hardly visible; labrum thickened externally, bearing 9-10 denticles internally. Colour of the whorls bright yellow; labrum white; a red band, only visible in the interspaces between the costae, turns around the whorls above the suture up to the labrum. » – 20-30m deep, Málaga, Andalucia, S.
