N. Algeria to N. Morocco. Grazer in pure and cold freshwater springs and streams. Original taxon: Neritina numidica. The shell is dark purple to black in colour, semiglobose, with an axial microsculpture made up of thin but deep radial striae. apex often eroded. Periostracum very glossy.
