Grazer, on stones and rocks in lakes and small freshwater streams. Original taxon: Neritina africana.
 
« Shell suborbicular, spire small, scarcely exserted, whorls flatly convex, columellar area rather narrow, slanting; dull white, marked with delicate interrupted black flexuous lines.
