Rissoa auriformis Pallary, 1904
Central Mediterranean.
Grazer and detritus feeder, at least in the infralittoral.
Synonym: pseudomonodonta Verduin.
Specimen with a weak columellar tooth, from Elafonisi area, SW. of Kissamos, W. Crete. 3,4mm.
The species differs from monodonta Philippi by its slightly smaller size, by its shorter and more obtuse protoconch (auriformis is not planktotrophic), and by the last whorl, which is more important in auriformis and bears a more expanded labial margin. The columellar tooth is of variable strenght. Coloured specimens exist. – Same spot. 3,5mm.
Adult specimen collected at 5m deep, Cavtat, Konavle borough, Dubrovnik-Neretva Comitat, S. Croatia. 5mm.
