West Pacific to Indian Ocean, Red Sea, eastern Mediterranean. Predator in the infralittoral, down to 70m deep. Original taxon: Bulla fourierii. The species is named after the mathematician J. Fourier, who took part as scientist in the French campaign in Egypt and Syria

Shell white, thin and fragile, constricted posteriorly and bulged anteriorly. « Spire sunken, the summit is a deep hole. Aperture compressed and narrow, flared
frontward. The outer lip is higher than the spire. Sculpture made of thin cords and costae, forming a fine beaded reticulum. » – vieoceane. Same spot, 12m deep. 2,3mm. |
