Parthenina limitum (Brusina, 1876)
Mediterranean.
Ectoparasit in the infralittoral.
Original taxon: Turbonilla limitum.

The shell is close to that of alesii, but with less radial ribs and a deeper suture. Protoconch of type B. Teleoconch: whorls flat, separated from each other by a marked suture, with a radial sculpture of very numerous ribs, about 24 on the last whorl, broadly orthocline and slightly sinuous, as wide as their interspaces; these radial ribs are weel marked on the first whorls, but become progressively obsolete anteriorly; some spirals, more or less visible, run along the abapical part of the whorls: like in dollfusi, they are 2 on the penultimate whorl, and at least 3 visible on the last one; aperture showing a water droplet section, acute adapically, flat externally, rounded at its base, with a visible columellar tooth.

Above and below: 8m deep, in grit, Burnaz plajı, Erzin, Hatay province, SE. Turkey. 2,65mm.
Protoconch of type B. Inside of the aperture showing, by transparency, the traces of the 3 spirals crossed by the radials.
