Iceland to Kola peninsula, Azores to Mediterranean. Grazer and detritus feeder in the shallow infralittoral down to the lower circalittoral. Original taxon: Rissoa intersecta. Synonyms: alderi, cantrainei, globosa, obtusa.   Sculpture of thin spiral striae and prosocline growth lines. Umbilicus small and deep. Spire shorter than in macilenta. Cap Ras, Llançà, Girona, Catalunya, NE. Spain. 0,8mm.
