Norway to Canarias, Azores to Mediterranean. Predator on sessile preys in the infralittoral-circalittoral. Original taxon: Triphora erythrosoma. The second spiral cord appears later than #1 and #3; the protoconch is bicarinate; the fourth spiral cord, only visible on the last whorl, is granulose; the first basal cord is granulose, the second one smooth. The animal is red, « spotted with yellow » (Bouchet & Guillemot); more precisely yellow with an intense red spotting. Slightly subadult from the same spot, with some banded pattern on the base. 5,4mm. |
