Mathilda cochlaeformis Brugnone, 1873
Azores to central Mediterranean.
Predator on Cnidarians in the circalittoral down to the continental shelf and the upper slope.
Synonyms: elegantissimus, granolirata.

« Shell turriform. Whorls 9, slightly convex, bicarinate, striated longitudinally and transversely. Keels raised, rounded. Aperture large. Apex acute. — Adapical keel strongest, and located at the periphery of the whorl, abapical one close to the suture. Two thin and continguous beads encircle the whorls adapically. Sutures narrow, canaliculate. Vertical and transverse striae more conspicuous in the interspaces around the keels and beads, giving these interspaces a minute clathrate appearance; the longitudinals continue along the rest of the shell, giving the keels and the beads a crenulated and curly appearance. » – G. A. Brugnone: Miscellanea malachologica pars. I, Palermo 1873, via BHL.
