Portugal to Mediterranean, to Sénégal. Predator in the low infralittoral and in the circalittoral. Original taxon: Pleurotoma attenuata var. tenuicosta. 30-40m deep, Málaga, Andalucia, S. Spain. 6mm. |
The costae, quite prominent, are separated by large and deep furrows. The slender shape, the pale background, the fine brown lines, the absence of spiral sculpture, are significant elements. Sometimes a dark spiral band turns around the base of the last whorl, like in M. attenuata, but the colour is less pronounced. – 30m deep, on detritic bottom, Málaga. 6-6,5mm. |
