Faroe and Norway to Mediterranean. Predator in the infralittoral. Synonyms: bertrandii, caerulans. « Shell spindle-shaped […]decorated with axial costae – of which 8 on last whorl – of rounded section, with slight bend at suture insertion. Very thin spiral striae – in a few specimens alternating with a few in higher relief – in intervals between axial costae. Aperture elongate, narrow, hardly higher than half last whorl. Anterior canal relatively short, straight, sculptured with striae that are sparser, more oblique and more prominent than those between axial costae. C-shaped posterior sinus thickened by callous extending over inside outer lip. Thick, wide varix outside rim of lip.
