Azores and Madeira to Mediterranean. Predator in the low infralittoral and the circalittoral « dei fondi fangosi e coralligeni di Palermo, Corsica, Provenza ecc. » (Monterosato). The shell of this species is similar to that of unifasciata but with a more pronounced spiral microsculpture; the radial folds are rather sharp, especially in the early whorls; the spiral cords, irregularly placed, are often paler than the rest of the shell; the most marked cord is at the periphery. 25m deep, Piedras Altas, Punta de la Mona, east of La Herradura, Granada, Andalucia, S.
