Hinea punctostriata (E. A. Smith, 1872)
Red Sea (at least) and far eastern Mediterranean. Micrograzer along the rocky shore. « This pretty species may be recognized from any other by the nine transverse red lines and the punctured striae, about twenty in the body-whorl. » – E. A. Above: specimen collected in shallow water under rock, Dor, Haifa district, NW. Israel. 8,1mm. It doesn’t show punctured spiral striae, and the ornamentation is devoid of square spots.
