Granulina marginata (Bivona, 1832)
Mediterranean. Predator in sheltered hard bottoms of the infralittoral, down to 40m deep (Gofas, 1992). When the species is present, it is often found in large colonies. Sympatric with G. boucheti. Original taxon: Volvaria marginata. – Cap Ras, Llançà, Girona, Catalunya, NE. Spain. 1,7mm.
Shell generally subpyriform, subtriangular or sometimes ovuliform; aperture narrow, without this noticeable anterior expansion present in boucheti; apical area flat, somewhat truncated. – Young specimen collected in the bay of Georgioúpoli, east of Chaniá, NW. Crete. 1,3mm.
