Alborán Sea to Sénégal. Also discovered in Lampione islet, in the south-east of Sicilia (Nurra & al., 2008) and near Catania. Predator in the infralittoral. This is the largest member of the genus in the Mediterranean Sea. Original taxon: Volvaria oryza. Live collected at 2m deep, under stone, Punta del Carnero, Getares, Algeciras, Andalucia, S. Spain. 6,5mm. |
