Alvania campanii Tisselli & Giunchi, 2013
E. Aegean.
Grazer and detritus feeder in the infralittoral.

The sculpture of the teleoconch is made up of about 12 radial costae, crossed by 2 spiral ribs in the first whorl, 3 in the second one, 4 in the next one; the radials vanish below the periphery of the last whorl. The colour varies from a uniform white to brown, sometimes crossed by a pale band.

8m deep, Bozcaada island (type locality), Çanakkale, W. Marmara, NW. Turkey. 2,4mm.
A difference with Alvania datchaensis is given by the granulose microsculpture of the protoconch: only slightly wavy in campanii, markedly undulating in datchaensis. – The taxon honours the well known malacologist Enzo Campani, one of the major figures of the Società Italiana di Malacologia.
