Alvania balearica
Oliver & Templado, 2009
NW. Mediterranean, in the Balearic area…
Grazer and detritus feeder in the infralittoral.

The protoconch is typical, with its set of 3 strong primary spiral cords. Teleoconch a little turriculated, with a large and flat subsutural ramp, sculptured of feeble longitudinals. Last whorl: only 5 spiral cords before the labrum, 4 above the aperture, 3 on the base. The number of longitudinals is among the lowest of local members of the genus. The interesctions give rise to small but well pronounced tubercles, rounded instead of those of aliceae that are almost spiny.

20m deep, Illes Columbretes, E. Spain. 2,3mm.
