Eastern Mediterranean.
Grazer and detritus feeder in the infralittoral.
 
The shell is rather similar to those of beanii, dianiensis, hirta, hispidula, oetyliaca etc. but differs in some slight details. Among them, the number of spiral cords above the aperture (3-4 in amatii), the granulose protoconch1, the weak apical keel on protoconch 2. – Above and below: 5m deep, Bozcaada island, Çanakkale province, W. Marmara, NW. Turkey. 2,3mm.
Some specimens can be more or less markedly banded.

Named in honour of the conchologist Bruno Amati.
