Shells small (Aplus) to medium-sized (Solenosteira), biconical, with a pointed apex; aperture long, sometimes narrow sometimes ovate, with a posterior siphonal notch varying from obsolete to strongly marked; anterior siphonal canal obsolete to short, open; columellla smooth, curved, bent anteriorly; columellar callus poorly developed; no umbilicus; operculum claw-shaped, with an anteriorly terminal nucleus.
 

Shell small, with weakly convex whorls and shallow sutures; sculpture of numerous longitudinal costae and spiral cords, the latter strengthened at the intersections with the costae; aperture somewhat rounded posteriorly, narrowed anteriorly; posterior siphonal notch deep, anterior canal short, open; inside of the lip serrated in mature specimens.
 

Shell small, with convex whorls and marked sutures; sculpture of few marked longitudinal costae and spiral cords, the latter strengthened at the intersections with the costae; aperture somewhat rounded posteriorly, narrowed anteriorly; posterior siphonal notch deep, anterior canal short, open; inside of the lip serrated in mature specimens.
