Shells medium-sized, imperforate, very variable in shape, colour and sculpture.
 

Shell medium-sized, fusiform, tall-spired, with barely convex whorls separated from each other by a thin sutural groove; sculpture of numerous slight spiral ribs crossed by weaker longitudinal growth marks; periostracum thin on the whole shell; aperture semi-lunar, smooth inside, with a thin labial margin, no posterior notch, and a developed anterior canal, widely open; columella smooth; columellar callus thin, limited to the apertural area.
