Galeodea Link, 1807:Shell medium-sized, with a very large and inflated body whorl; sculpture exclusively spiral, with in some species several rows of nodules, usually at the shoulder and below. It is important to notice that these nodules are not obligatorily arranged on longitudinal columns, but often slightly staggered; labial margin often varicose outside, serrate internally; anterior canal narrow, strongly curved backwards, and open. The passing of the posterior siphon is often delimited by a strong denticle in the upper part of the lip. |
