Shells small to large, conchologically close to those of the Ranellidae by the shape, the presence of labial varices lined up along the spire, the shape of the aperture and of the anterior siphonal canal; but they differ in the sculpture, often pustulose, in the lack of periostracum, and in the presence of a noticeable posterior siphonal canal or deep sinus at the top of the aperture. |

Shell medium-sized, with a marked primary sculpture of radial varices crossed by strong cords that are more or less nodulose; secondary scyulpture made up of weak spral striae; the whorls are convex, separated from each other by a shallow suture and a large sloped subsutural ramp. |
