Bulla Linnaeus, 1758:Shell small to medium-sized, subglobose, with an involute spire, the body whorl being the only one visible; aperture as long as the shell, or slightly longer, with a narrow posterior terminal, a round and large anterior part, and a sharp labial margin; columella smooth, with a thin callus that does not extend below the mouth. Sculpture smooth except radial growth marks and, in some species, the presence of a few spiral striae; pattern mottled in different shades of brown. |
